My Birthday - Eeeeek

I awoke on my birthday to the sound of scuffling about downstairs, hushed voices and Elle singing Happy Birthday loudly in a distant room but being interupted by "Not yet Elle! Upstairs for mummy!"
Then I saw this...

As I get older I have been getting less and less enthused about my birthday. When faced with the "What do you want?" question from my boyfriend I gave the answer of "Nothing really"...Not especially helpful for the poor guy!
We went shopping for a few things and I picked the Leighton Denny nail varnish featured in my last blog post here, and the Core Collection of brushes from Samantha Chapman's Real Techniques.
He had however, done very well, and bought me a most amazing gift indeed!

The Illamasqua Freak perfume! Since getting the sample for this in my Glossybox many boxes ago, I fell in love, and he listened! I got the gift set and am over the moon completely! The scent is mysterious and dark, nothing like the girly floral scents I usually steer towards.
The set came with a nail varnish in the colour Wink, a purple lipgloss that I would never have the guts to buy but I absolutely love! And a silver Liquid Metal.
On first swatch the lipgloss is extememly bright but goes on as something really wearable.

The Illamasqua varnish just so happens to compliment the Leighton Denny one I also got for my birthday, so I wore them together as I couldn't decide which to wear. *Note the vanilla tray bake...Mmmmm!
I absolutely love the colours and I don't want to wear anything else! They are such bright happy colours. (which just refuse to photograph true to colour!)
My Real Techniques brushes are as brilliant as I had hoped they would be! For the price of £22 they are absolutely fantastic and I don't think my makeup has ever gone on as well or looked as good.
In the Core Collection set is a Contour brush, Pointed Foundation brush, Detailer brush and Buffing brush.
After watching Pixiwoo video's on youtube I really wanted the Buffing brush for my BB cream and when I saw the Core set it seemed more cost effective than just the buffing brush alone. I don't wear eyeshadow too often as I can't carry off heavy makeup but after seeing how good these brushes are I now want the set of brushes for eyes... I'm sold!
The stand they are pictured in here doubles as a really handy carry case for keeping your brushes safe and it also has spaces for any extra brushes you may wish to keep in the case for travelling.

I had a really great birthday and couldn't have wished for more!
