Glossybox For Men June 2012

The men's box comes every 3 months. Or it used to until my boyfriend just unsubscribed. Three mens boxes have come and gone and it seems quite clear that the same enthusiasum that goes into the womens box is clearly lacking here.
I know that men are more limited to the number of products that are available, but the box lacks imagination.
This month Glossybox has colaborated with Niven & Joshua. They have built the box based on "a simple four tier rountine; Clean, Prepare, Shave and Protect. Nice to see some structure and a little more thought put into the products. Even if it is too little too late.

Baxter of California Oil Free Moisturiser.
x2 sachet 5ml samples. For normal to oily skin and Fragrance free. Use to restore the skin's moisture barrier.
£20.00 for 120ml

Zirh Sahve Gel.
7ml sample. A non foamind shave gel. Use to avoid irritated areas and "maintain sideburns" (??)
£13.50 for 100ml

Zirh Clean Face Wash.
7ml sample. A unique and effective formula for oily skin.
£15.50 for 250ml

Yu-Be Vitamin Enriched Cream.
3g sample. Extremely effective at combating severe dry skin and soothing minor skin irritations.
£12.00 for 33g

Molton Brown Re-charge Black Pepper Bodywash.
30ml sample. Invigorating black pepper, bergamot and oakmoss. Sounds like it would smell like something you marinade your streak in before cooking but it actually smells manly and fresh.

Marvis Classic Strong Mint Toothpaste.
10ml sample. Not much to say other than it's a peppermint long lasting toothpaste. If it isn't in Asda then it won't be repurchased, I won't go out of my way for toothpaste.
 £5.50 for 75ml

Nickel Super Clean Face Scrubbing Gel.
15ml sample. Sounds promising as it is supposed to eliminate a dull complexion, irregular texture and shiny patches as well as smoothing skin.
£16.00 for 125ml

Over the three boxes that we have tried there have been a lot of new brands that we hadn't heard of. A couple of products worthy of repurchase but at the end of the day, it is very expensive for what it is. at £17.95 a box I expect more.

Does your man get the male Glossybox? What do you think of it?

  2. Im unsubscribing just like your fella, first 2 were ok last one was just terrible, i dont care how much toothpaste costs, i dont want to pay to sample it. Very small and not what i would call quality products except the molton brown. Glossybox should stop letting people do their boxes and do it themselfs. I would expect 1 full size product to make it worth my while after all its over 15 pounds and 3 monthly. Will be trying other brands. P.S my wifes just cancelled hers after getting 4 products you could get for free in a magasine.

    1. I think they will have lost a lot of subscribers after this box. Silly really as they could have done something really great with the concept. May as well take your £17.95 and spend it on something you are going to love. I do agree with you that I expected a full size product in there. I know they are a sampling service but the female box almost always has a full size in it.
