GlossyBox November 2012

Sometimes it's hard to blog about thing's you aren't passionate about, or thing's that don't excite you. That's why my Glossybox posts have been MIA recently. I just couldn't muster up any enthusiasm.
Enter Glossbox November- The month Glossybox seem to have pulled their pretty pink lace trimmed socks up!

Nivea Lip Butter - Raspberry Rosé

Bargain product of the year!
Nivea have released a new lip butter in 4 delicious flavours that melt to the touch and moisturise to the full.
Designed to melt instantly into your lips giving a smoothed out, moisturised soft feel.
Raspberry Rosé smells so edible and fresh! it melts down quickly at the touch of your finger making it so easy to apply, even to chapped and sore lips that need treating gently.

Top- Bare lips. Bottom- Nivea applied.
It applies quite sheer whilst still keeping that rich creamy texture that you recognise as belonging to Nivea.
Containing Shea Butter and Almond Oil to really smooth and repair lips, especially now the brisk weather has set in.
It's extremely lightweight and easy to wear making it a handbag essential!
Coming in the cute little signature metal tin this butter comes in four flavours.
Raspberry Rosé
Caramel Cream
Vanilla and Macadamia
Original

I'd love to try the Vanilla and Macadamia but it seems to be really hard to track down on the highstreet at the moment so keep 'em peeled!
Priced at just £1.49 each (told you it was a bargain!) here from Superdrug.

Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick - Lucky 536

Another lipstick for my non judgemental beauty obsessives alike.
You of course, are so much more understanding than my boyfriend of the "lipstick lust" and how easy it is to get swept away (with your debit card. Handy that!)
Dior Addict Extreme lipstick in the colour Lucky - 536
'Tis a beaut!

Ciate Breakthrough Breast Cancer Duo

I know you will be familiar with the amazing excitable feeling of buying something new. Something Sparkly and new! But it feels even better when you know you are giving to a really bloody good cause by purchasing that something sparkly.
A lot of great companies give proceeds of a sale in aid of charity and in October everything goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Ciate have given us a stunning pink polish duo for this month with a whopping 20% going to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity.

Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Sheer Candy Lipstick

I feel like words are not needed, I could just let this immaculate, stunning packaging do the talking. Let us bow our heads in appreciation for this beautiful lipstick...

Ciate Mini Mani Month Advent Calendar

I'm just going to put this out there...for the first time ever I'm going to say "Screw you chocolate! Youv'e been replaced!"
Ciate, the little geniuses, have made what has been missing from my life all these 24 years.
A nail polish advent calendar. I know... I understand your excitement!
Cutely named the Mini Mani Month.

24 mini bottles of nail polish and caviar beads. Three of which are brand new mystery shades that can only be found in this here little Christmas gem.
Mine arrived two days ago and has since then tortured me. When covertly peeking under a door I had this calendar snatched out of my unmanicured hands and told I can have it on December1st. What?! Apparently, despite not having the word Christmas printed on it anywhere, it's 24 windows means it's a Decmeber affair?! Gahh, I hate logic!

You can purchase this on the Selfridges website for £38 here
And I urge you to buy it soon before it sell's out to nail polish crazies across the country!
I would also suggest you rip every window open before the nail polish police confiscate your's too...

Hair Bow Tutorial

A little "hair how to" post. Because every now and then, my hair actually does something quite pretty.
Bow's are super cute and girly. And if it does't make you look cute and girly, it will at least make you look festive for Christmas. Like a beautifully wrapped present I guess...

A Week In Instagram #7

A week of feeling creative and snug with a hint of the vintage lover bug.
A collage I made of my nature inspired instagram photo's. Seem's a shame to do nothing with them when I am so super talented ;-)

A couple of lovely illustrated vintage feel picture's
Capturing a great moment of Elle being crazy
Childhood falshback's. If you can name the film that this opening scene is from then you and I should be friends!
An afternoon of blogs, cuppa soup and pitta bread
'Til next week Instagrammers :-)

Balmi Lipbalm

Balmi are fairly new on the scene. Dome shaped balm housed in a spherical little ball.
I recently received a blackcurrant one in the Latest In Beauty Editor's Picks box (link here)
Since stealing all the black Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles as a young'un I have craved blackcurrant things, so I welcome this little gem into my life. I also wear a lot of black. 'Tis a match made in predictable heaven.

Tag: How Much Is Your Face Worth?

Ever the weird little blog stalking hermit of Louise AKA Sprinkle Of Glitter I found myself a little tag post on her glitter laden blog, and now here is my version of it!
How Much Is Your Face Worth?
No, no one is going to take my face and sell it (weird thought...)
I'm not a model where "my face is my money"
And no, I'm not talking about how much cosmetic surgery I've had. (none!)
You take your everyday makeup, add up the painful amount that it all cost and there you have it. How much your face is worth!
To check out the original post by Sprinkle Of Glitter go here

A Week In Instagram #6

Autumn has brought on a slow week Instagram wise. No more pretty flowers in bloom and too much rain to spend time outside without looking like a rat. A drenched one. But here are some non drenched rat pictures that I did take this week...

Instagram #5

My little blog has been a little neglected this week due my daughters 3rd birthday on September 11th.
As much as I love writing, it just isn't as fun as hand feeding giraffes!
A picture of Elle in Tenerife and the rest were captured in the butterfly house at Longleat Safari Park.

Autumn NOTD

The start of Autumn starts with me eagerly whipping out all my favourite deep berry and jewel coloured nail polishes that I ban to the back of the drawer during summer.

A Week In Instagram #4

The first week of September. Soon to be Elle's 3rd birthday and the sun is gleaming every single day, so she should have a nice tan in time for her bithday...Joking!
Chanel illustration from a fashion book. My messy makeup and after an hour well spentin beauty product heaven...my tidy makeup. And a grasshopper AKA Mr Hopper-grass to Elle who found him.

Impress Press On Manicure Review

Given a rare and exciting week off to have pretty nails away from the glitter police of my workplace, I gave the new Impress press on manicure nails a go after hearing so much about them recently.
I am so rough with my nails and all polishes, be it high end or budget, chip within 24 hours. So these nails claiming to last up to a week with the bonus of no drying time apeal to my beady eye greatly.

A Week In Instagram #3

The last week of august coming and going...
Girly cupcakes, Impress nails that are waiting to be blogged about, MAC lippie- blog post coming, Elle on the beach.

OPI Mermaid's tears

A little OPI binge is good for the heart. That's what one tell's one's self when you have accidently aquired four in a week.
Mermaid's Tears being one of the four little beauties winking at me from the shop display. Even if I do already have 3 at home that look remarkably similar...
A beautiful dusty jade green cream. Creams are a bit of a nightmare to apply for me, with pulling and "bald spots" but this applied beautifully with two coats. I like to apply a white coat underneath to make the colour pop (Illamasqua Scorch) although I feel I could have gone without for this shade.
A real dirty jade that gives a flash of colour yet still looking sophisticated and chic.
Taken outside in direct sunlight.

From the previous OPI collection- Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Illamasqua Powder Foundation

I got a few items in the ever popular Illamasqua sale. And as I am increasingly overly excited and obsessive about skin products, I got a powder foundation. Leaving me feeling somewhat disloyal to my 6 year long relationship with my Barbara Daly powder foundation. I'm sorry Barb, I'll be back!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

Deep Cleansing Oil from DHC as provided from Glossybox August
Oil. On my face. On my oily face. No!
Putting oil on my face would be something I would have run for the hills from a year ago. It feels unnatural and goes against everything I have ever believed good for my skin type.
But I'm a beauty blogger now, and obsessed by all things beauty. I have become an open floozy for beauty products and I'm free to try anything, a bit of a swinger if you will.
"So here goes" I thought to myself as I decanted oil into my palm.

Estelle And Thild Lip Balm Review

I recieved the Estelle And Thild Lip Balm in my ever talked about Selfridges box and it's a little beaut of a product!
Dressed in simple pretty packaging and a pale yellow tint to the product. I thought it would be a little "bog standard" and nothing too special.
Ahhh don't you just love having to say you were wrong?!
Amazingly flavoured with raspberry, so good it's a struggle not to lick it off my lip's straight away!
Estelle and Thild are a Swedish brand who promise to provide you with products you can trust, using only high quality, organic ingredients that protect your skin's natural balance.
It goes on incredibly smoothly and a little goes a long way!
Thankfully lacking that greasy or sticky feel but coating the lips just enough to give a subtle, natural sheen.
Packed with vitimins that get to work nourishing and replenishing moisture whilst protecting.
I have been using this every morning over the top of Benetint and I love the natural look it gives. It is available in two other shades of pink if you were to want something with a little colour which is what I will probably do when I repurchase this in the future.
A little piece of organic, pretty, feel good makeup!
I found it for £14 here!

Stila One Step Correct Fresh Face To Full Face Review

The Stila One Step Correct was in my Selfridges box (review here) and I have since been trying it out for size against my other million primers...well 5 or 6 really.
Said to be a colour correcting, brightening, anti-ageing, oil controlling serum primer (mouthful!)
So just a general super hero of a product then?! Talk about multi purpose!

Inspirational Art!

Here is a word to get me excited- Stationary!
Yup, WHSmith is great and The Range is heaven!
If you aren't into drawing, art, stationary and colouring in then I am about to leave you confused and bored to an untimely death!
Recently my friend nonchalantly whipped out the most awesome bit of stationary kit I have ever seen!
So I went on a mad search and bought one to settle my jealous instinct to draw all over her face and run into the horizon with said stationary...

A yellow box filled with 7 sparkly new beauty products representing their favourite beauty finds.

Molton Brown Cheek Bloom

I recently did a surprise swap box with a friend on the Beauty Box Swaps Facebook page and amongst a whole box of amazing products  I received a great little Molton Brown blusher that I love!
In the shade cutely named "Apple Blossom"
A very light cool toned pink that really highlights cheeks.

A Week In Instagram #1

Instagram! If you don't have it, get it!
Releasing my inner photographer and giving me a better eye for a good photo opportunity!
My username is emsmcs
feel free to leave your usernames in the comments so I can have a beady eye on your pics!
Here are my most recent pictures from the past week

NARS Gilda Blush

My first NARS purchase. I know. Exciting stuff.
Nars Gilda blush. It's a matte, burnt orange, red tinged coral. And sadly, maybe not right for my skin tone? Arghhh!
I was rushed in the Selfridges store and didn't want to keep people waiting so I picked Gilda on a whim and now I wish I had chosen differently.
Not that it isn't a stunning blush though!
